The Diamond House Mountain View
An irregular polygonal pie shape lot plus a complex city setback zoning, led to an exciting geometric shape, which we like to call the Diamond house, as seen from a top view.
The glassy photovoltaic roof tiles only reinforce this idea.
These angles allow for each main space in the house to be divided in discrete block each with exterior views crossing around them, so that virtually no real hallways exist and each side of this multifaceted house feels like it has its own exterior area, whether ground level yards or balconies.
The sculptural stairwell on the corner becomes the opportunity for natural light cascading two levels.
